Texas Road Trip to Gruene Hall

Texas road trip to Gruene Hall

On this episode of TX:GX 460 Overland and Off Road we take a Texas road trip down I-35 from Fort Worth, Texas to Gruene, Texas. Along the way we check out Slovacek’s Meat Market in West, Texas for a quick lunch. A stop in Kyle, Texas at RV Land to check out their Opus, Forest River and Aliner pop-up campers. After checking into our hotel in New Braunfels, a quick trip to Specs Wine, Spirits & Finer Foods provides a satisfying afternoon happy hour. Dinner at McAdoo’s in downtown New Braunfels was top notch seafood! We capped the evening watching Bob Schneider at Gruene Hall, Texas’ oldest dance hall. The next day, we visited Freitheit Country Store, started in 1889 and now a delicious burger and biergarten joint. Restock at Buc-ee’s in New Braunfels, the world’s largest convenience store with over 66,000 sq. ft. of beaver nuggets, fudge, bbq and clean bathrooms, and we were northbound of I-35 headed home. A second visit to Slovacek’s for take home sausage and Martin House Brewing Company in Fort Worth for seasonal beers, and this 24 hour road trip was complete.

We hope you love traveling Texas as much as we do! Let us know what we missed so we can make a stop next time at your favorite spot!
